We came to Corfu (Kerkyra) by way of Athens on the way to
Rome. I'd read about the wonders of the Pink Palace but until I ended up
going to Greece for Fall break I didn't think there'd be any way that I'd
end up getting there, being so far out. It turned out to be one of my
favorite spots. An ex-resort hotel, the Pink Palace is beyond any hostel I
stayed at. Free food, private rooms and showers, car rental for $20/day
(they drive on our side of the road) it's an isolated paradise that's a
whole different world and pace. It's a party destination in the on-season,
but you've got the run of the place starting late September. Worth it alone
to lay out on the roof at night to see more stars than you have or ever
will. Perfect enough to re-visit in December.
